Spring Porch Clean Up

As spring draws near I'm thinking about my porch and all the work I need to do out there.
I may have mentioned before that I live on a dirt road , when it is dry dust flies when cars go down the road. There is a movement on to get the road paved , it may happen this spring , if it does I'll be able to decorate out there without everything being covered in dust. This last fall my son and I took down the cute cutouts that were in the porch rails , several of them were rotten and split, and we opened up the entrance some . Since we only primed the rails we put up , they are going to need a good coat of paint this year , plus I want to paint the porch floor and the shutters and door. So I have a lot of work cut out for me .I would like to get out there this week and get all the winter dust and dirt cleaned off.
Next Sunday afternoon my daughter and I are having one of those party's were you invite a bunch of lady friends to come in hopes that they will buy stuff that another lady friend is selling. In this case Scentsy Wickless Candles.
Anyway since the porch is the first thing you see when you arrive , I would like it to be clean.
So I am hoping for a warm day so I can wash it down.
Come on SPRING !!!

  1. Wow that sounds like a fun party! As I was reading this and idea for cleaning kept appearing in my head. I could see using the Windex, I know it's not a window, but you know the solution you just put on the hose and spray!

    Happy spring decorating ~

  2. Good luck on the porch cleaning! The weather isn't going to be that great but hopefully that could change ! Sounds like your going to have a good time with your friends! I know what you mean about the dust from the road ... We have the same problem at the Gift Shop & we are always dusting! Hope they get your streets paved for you soon! :)

  5. Sounds like a wonderful party coming up! I can say though that Scentsy wickless candles are totally awesome! They smell great and last a long time too.

  6. Ugh. Talk about dirty front porches! I was looking at ours today and was afraid to brush up against anything. And we don't have a dirt road for an excuse. But I'm like you. Itching to get out and fix up the porch!
