Last week one day while troling my mega list of blogs that I follow, I ran across one that was talking about getting a ruffler for her sewing machine that she ordered from her sister's store that sold sewing machine parts and vacumn parts. Now I can't remember who that was to save my life , I'm sorry ! I even looked back through the blogs to try to find it , but I couldn't.
Anyway it got me thinking that it sure would be a lot easier to make a ruffle with one of those gadgets , so I got on line to see if I could find one to fit my machine , and yep, sure enough I found one from a site called GoneSewing.com . It came today ! This is it !Look what it does ! It will also make pleats , but I haven't tried that yet. I made this bag from a resturant table cloth I found for a dollar at a local flea market.
I already washed it , because I got some shmutz on it from the machine while I was sewing it.
It took me about an hour to make it once I learned how to make the ruffles.
I'm seeing a lot of ruffles in my futuure !
I'm heading over to Faded Charm to link up to White Wednesday .
Go on over and take a look !
EVERY time i make a pleat or a ruffle i wish I had picked one of these up!
ReplyDeleteLove that bag. This little machine is a handy dandy item to have ;-)

I think I'm going to get one too. Love the bag. I make so many ruffled pillows (working on some now) & believe it or not, I ruffle as I go by pushing the fabric under the pressure foot. Thanks! Jan
ReplyDeleteI need to do the same thing. I have been wanting a ruffler attachment for my machine too. Thanks for the post.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that bag!! but the ruffler thingy looks a little scary to me, I'm lucky to get my machine threaded, can't wait to see what you make! It's yucky and raining in my part of AR today, hope yours is better! Looks like a beautiful week end coming!! Lisa
ReplyDeleteHi

Love your bag. I tried making one (pink with ballerina) and I didn't know you need the "ruffler mechanism" to make ruffles, haha, you should see my bag is so sad, http://arcefrenchofheart.blogspot.com/2011/03/i-learned-lot.html
ReplyDeleteI guess I'll get the ruffler if I want to make another bag.
Happy Wednesday!
I just saw one at JoAnnes and it looked pretty complicated! Your ruffles and the bag make me want to get over my fear! They are wonderful, more ruffles in your future are a very good thing! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOk, It must be meant for me to get one of these. I love your ruffles! I keep seeing posts on these in blogland.
ReplyDeleteYour tote is lovely. Looks like I need to get one of those ruffler doodads!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Judy
Hi Sharon, My name is also Sharon, middle name Kay, I just lost my husband March 2nd of this year. I am now thinking what I want to do with the rest of my life. I see your husband passed away a few years ago and you seem to be very busy, which is a good thing. I have a blog but not sure if I want to keep it up. Your blog inspired me to think about it. Also love every thing cottage. Nice to meet you.
