White Wendnesday Makeover

Whew ! Finished it just in time to get in on White Wednesday.
This is a hutch that I have had since 1969 , purely late 60s Early American.
As you can see I had already taken one of the small doors off before I thought to take a before picture. This was one of the first pieces of furniture that my husband and I bought when we were first married, so you understand why it took me so long to decide to paint it.
But it was really out of date !
Here we go ! New look !
I bought new handles and knobs , I had to paint the hinges , as I could not find any to fit.
But I am pleased with how it turned out.
I haven't done the top yet , because I am not planing on using them together right now.

I love these drawer pulls , I would love to put them on my kitchen drawers, but the drawers are made so that I can't.

Once I get this placed where I want it , I will take some more pictures.
So what do you think ?
Do you like her makeover ?
Please go over to Faded Charm and look at all the fabulous white stuff !
Happy White Wednesday !

  4. So much better. I am proud of you that you broke through the wall of never painting furniture.

It looks great are you working on the top?

  5. I LOVE IT ... Looks so much better!
I love the drawer pulls too! I was thinking about your comment that you can't put them on your cabinet drawers! Why? I say never say never & where there is a will there is a way? LOL! I'm looking forward to seeing where you put it. :)

  6. I just came across your site and it is lovely. It made being stuck at home due to the snow worth while. Usually here in Victoria, BC our daffodils are almost out :) I build furniture and use as much salvaged materials as I can. I want to be at my shop lol. Check out what I do if you get a chance. My blogsite is not nearly as lovely but I am learning. Thanks so much, Sheryl www.daisyexpress.blogspot.com

  10. My daughter has my mom's chest of drawers that's maple. She's wanted to get rid of it & I've told her to paint it. Now I can have her ck. yours out. It looks fantastic! I've really grown to love painting & putting finishes on furniture. Hope you get to come to open house -- we've got big plans. Jan
