Hutch Base Home

This is it !
This is where my newly painted hutch base ended up living, I think it looks much nicer than the cabinet I had there before, I hung the paper wreath that I made before Christmas above it and created some height with the bird house. Here I added a white pitcher with some pink roses , just because I thought it needed a little pink there.
I was asked what kind of paint I used , it was left over white exterior latex , semi-gloss.
( still have over half a gallon left , guess I will have to paint something else. )
And yes I am going to paint the top of the hutch , just don't know what I am going to do with it yet , I'm sure I will come up with something.

Are you wondering what I did with the cabinet I had there before ?
This one that I made by putting together an old door , base cabinet and an old wall bathroom cabinet ?

Well ... I put it in the guest bathroom .

It's a big bathroom , so it doesn't take up all the floor space, although I wish the base was not quite so deep.

Now I just have to find a place for all the junk I cleaned out of the hutch.
There were four drawers of old photos and odds and ends of stuff that had nowhere else to go.
I have to go through it all and discard what is no good.
It is amazing how much stuff we can accumulate in 30 or 40 years !
Wish me luck !

Gonna add this to Debra's Vintage Inspiration Friday.

  1. I love the cabinet in the room. And where you placed the other cabinet is perfect in that bathroom. Even though you mentioned it is so deep, you can place so many items on it. Love the vignette you made with it.

    What a great job!!

  2. Hello Sharon,
I love the cabinet you painted I think it looks great where you put it with the bird house and the wreath. Will be looking forward to see what you will do with the top part of it.
    Enjoy your day!!

  4. Both look super! Good Job! Did you make the paper wreath? It's awesome.

  5. I scrolled down and looked at the hutch before and the white paint is transformational. Both pieces look good in their locations. I am visiting from Common Ground. ♥O

  6. Oh, I feel your pain. I'm going through that same thing of cleaning out -- so much stuff! Good luck! Jan

  7. Hi Sharon, your hutch looks wonderful in it's new space. love how you accessorized it with the bird cage, really pretty. TV's are hard to work with and your room looks really great. Thanks for joining in for VIF!

  8. Sharon, Hi! We have had to pay a daily rate for the internet connection and did not bother since we were rarely in the hotel here. However, we did late today and I was just going thru my comments and saw that you honored me with the Award. How wonderful. I am honored and as soon as I get back I will post your site and name 5 new site with less than 100 followers. This post should be about March 5th, probably post on Pink Saturday. We just extended our stay one more day here and may take a "scenic route" home, depends on weather. Thank you again! Talk to you soon. Lynn

  9. Hi Sharon, I just found your blog today and I have become a follower. I also live in Arkansas, I'm going to stalk your blog for a while and look back over your older post, love it! Lisa
