Thrift Store Chair Makeover

A little while back I found this chair at a thrift store for $10.00 .

003

Don’t you love the mix of plaids ?
The arms were loose and there was a chip out of the wood on one of the arms . But I thought it had some potential and the price was right .
I repaired the loose arms with some wood glue and some screws , filled in the chipped spot with wood putty and painted her with Simply White Cee Cee Caldwell chalk and clay paint.

That’s right ! I painted it right in the middle of my living room . By the fireplace and the TV . Call me crazy !
I usually paint in the sun room or my work room , but it was cold that day and it just felt better in the living room .
 I didn’t spill anything !
Anyway this is how it turned out …

A friend gave me the ticking fabric and I had just enough to finish this chair .

Took it down to our “Sweetie Pie Cottage “ booth at Lovejoy’s.

An guess what ?

It sold !

Woo Hoo !

Pam and I are heading out tomorrow to do some thrift stores and flea markets and see what we can find to fix up and resale .
I don’t think I am going to get rich doing this , but I am having fun !

Tutu Vanity Table

In my last post I teased you with an in progress picture of my newest project.
Here is the finished project.

003

I decopodged the top with music sheets , as well as inside the drawer ,
and added a tutu skirt in black tulle .

013

I had a hard time getting a good picture of it at home , so I took some of it once I had it in the booth at Lovejoy’s.

014

I think it turned out cute , and will look really sweet in a little girls room.
Okay , time to get started on the next project .

Our New Booth at Lovejoy’s

My Sis and I got our booth set up at the Lovejoy’s Collectables ,Antique, and Flea Market .
It took us two days to get it to this stage.
That’s Pam looking proud of our new baby.

018

We got it to the point that it doesn’t look empty, although there are some spots that could use more stuff. But we will get there .

We are really excited about this venture and have things priced to sell .
If you live anywhere around this area come on out to the north side of Harrison and check out Lovejoy Collectables.
I’m already working on my next project , of course  forgot to take a before picture. But I do have an in progress picture.
009
It’s a vanity table and it is going to be so cute when I get it done . So stay tuned kiddies , I will show you the finished product soon .
Have a great Weekend !

New year , New Venture !

Happy New Year blog friends !
We ( my sis Pam and I ) have decided to open a booth at a new local Antique , flea market , collectable mall near us  “ Lovejoys “ . I have wanted to do this for a long time , so when this new mall opened I went in and got information about it.
Pam said there was no way I was going to have all the fun by myself , and she wanted to go in with me . So here we go !

We are cleaning out attics , garages and all those places we had things stored . My sun room is filled with projects to pant and refurbish .
Our booth name will be ,
Sweetie Pie Cottage
A fine mix of up-cycled furniture ,re-purposed junk ,
and handcrafted pretties .
I’m so excited and hope to have lots of pictures soon to show you !
