Signs of Spring

We have had some incredibly warm weather around here , spring is starting early for us .

Today is in the 60s but there is a brisk cool wind , the sun is shining bright and I couldn’t resist taking a little walk with Bubba and taking some pictures.

He is straining at his leash , he wants to cross the road and christen those beautiful Bradford pear trees. Sorry Bubba ! No can do.

Aren’t they pretty ?

There are these tiny violet flowers coming up all through the yard .

Then there is the Forsythia that is starting to bloom everywhere..

Here in the south we call them Yellow Bells .

In my sister’s front flower bed we found the Daffodils were in full bloom .

Just look how the sun is shining through them !

Yesterday I was thinking about the past , it was four years yesterday that I lost my husband , there were some tears , and some grieving . But it wasn’t as bad as it has been . I’m beginning to see the spring , the new beginning , to let the sun in and face the new future . I miss him ! But I have learned to live on my own and take care of myself , and that is a good feeling .

Welcome Spring !

I hope you all have a little spring in your world too !

  1. Spring is showing up here in Oregon too--I love all the seasons..but am really excited to have cut flowers again!

  2. Spring can't come fast enough! I am in LOVE with your rolling pin in your header! andrea@townandprairie

  3. I love seeing signs of Spring! The pear trees really look lovely. I wish Spring would make its appearance around here too.

  4. The flowers look great.....think you're about a week ahead of us. I know how you feel....Mike died 3 yrs. ago in Jan. I do much better then I ever thought I would. Hope you can come to open house. Happy Spring!

  5. I'm happy for you! We are getting our worst winter weather theses last few days! Maybe in June my yard will look like yours!

  6. I love "real" Spring which means here on the Gulf Coast it never really feels there is Winter, so there is really never a huge REAL Spring breakthrough. If that makes any sense to anyone North of Tampa, hehe. Since I am a Yankee by birth, and lived in NY state for over 30 years I do know what REAL Spring is, hehe. Bless your heart. We never get over a great loss, I think we just kind of tuck it inside our hearts a little more as time goes on, but anniversaries are always reflective and bittersweet. Here is a special hug.

  7. Hi Sharon, Sweetie.
I'm so glad that you are in the process of healing. I know there are many wonderful things in store for you. You are so blessed with your incredible talents and I know you have much to share with the world.
