Sun Room Idea
So.... Do you remember a while back I was talking about what to do with my sun room ?
Well a couple of you gave me some good ideas.
One idea came from Karen at Love-Grace-Gratitude. She said why don't I put in a corner banquette type thingy, which I thought was a good idea except I don't really want it in the corner, but the bench idea stuck with me.
Now I am on the lookout for one of these...Can't you see it painted white with lots of pretty pillows on it ?
Trouble is , I haven't found one yet , But I'll keep looking.
After all that's half the fun !

Colors of the Ozarks
Even though there is only one more full week of October the colors here are still not quite peek.
It has been so dry we may not get as much color as we usually do.
I went for a ride today and captured some of the beauty of fall in the Ozarks. The first two photos are the road I live on, you just go a little ways past my house and around the curve and this is the view you get.Taking a little closer look...
If you turn around to go back around the curve this is what you see.
I took another county road , Lick Creek Rd, and these are the photos I took along there...

A few finds from War Eagle
I have been meaning to post these pictures sooner , but my grandbaby has had a cold and couldn't go to daycare , so he spent Mon. and Tue. with Nanaw . I couldn't seem to get anything else done with him here to play with... Anyway these are the things I found at the War Eagle fair.
A cute little vintage tray, and this wonderful green wire basket , I just love this basket !
And the brown thing is a sugar mold with votive cups in it for candles.I also found this red wire basket , which I thought I would use in the bottom of this cupboard for storage.
This is the bunny I mentioned in the last post that I bought from the lady in the booth next to us. Don't you love the old chippy crusty look she gets on them ?

War Eagle Shows
This was our last show this fall , and it was a great one , but it always is.
War Eagle takes place in the back of beond about halfway between Ericka Springs and Fayetteville , Arkansas.
They have been doing this fair for about 50 years.
This mill is a working mill, the first floor is the mill works and bakery, second floor is a gift shop , and top floor is a resturant. I took this picture from the bridge that crosses the War Eagle river.Early Thursday morning first day, it was cold, that's our friend Billie sitting down behind the tables , she makes the cute vintage style aprons hanging behind her, and baby quilts, this is her first year hanging out with Sweetie Pies. She was back there hunting for something in her purse , can you see the look she is giving me for taking her picture ? Ha
As you can see half of the booth is outside , the shoping basket full of sculls goes with the booth next to us. I was really tempted to buy one to put in my garden for Halloweeen. I bought a bunny instead , he can stay out there year around.
There was intertainment on the mill porch everyday...

And the crowds got like this everyday . We have been doing this show for 6 or 7 years and have never seen the crowds so thick , must have been the nice weather, it started out cold every morning but got up to the mid to uper 70's every afternoon.
We have worked this show in the rain, hail , and even snow one year, you just never know what to expect.

There are really 3 shows in one at this sight , the War Eagle Mill show where our booth is has only about 25 crafters all in the mill yard. then there is the War Eagle Farm show that is across the bridge on the hill, the picture of the mill in the next photo was taken from there.
There are 4 large circus size tents and a large wood building they call the barn, it is back behind the actual barn you see in this picture. Got to be at least 200 crafters in this area.
This is inside the barn Friday before the crowds got there.

I don't have any pictures from the third section of the show, it is an open field called Sharps Field on the other side of the mill and there are another 200 crafters and antique dealers over there.
It is a beautiful place and a great show , but it is 4 days long, and Pam , Billie , and I are very tired, but we will be back next year !

Half way
Hi , I'm not dead ( although I almost feel that way.) We are half way through our last craft show of the season . It is a four day show that started Thursday. It's an hour and a half away from home and we are driving back and forth every day, on the road by 6 am and not home till after 7 pm , so we are a little wiped out already. I will post some pictures Monday , and tell you all about it.
Have a great weekend !

Our Lady of the Lake craft fair
Another weekend craft show under the belt.
This one was nice because we were indoors and didn't have to worry about uneven ground.
This is my sister Pam waiting for the doors to open and let in the crowds. It was put on by the Catholic church in Branson , Mo.
We always have a lot of fun here.
You can tell that we have an ecletic mix of crafts , and some of it you have seen in past posts.
I was hoping to get some interest in my pencil portraits from photos, a lot of people took cards so maybe I will get some calls.

These three ladies were in the booth behind us, they are sisters , as we are , but the first lady is a Sister twice , she is a Catholic nun. We had so much fun with them, such sweet ladies.
Each show we have done this year has gotten a little better than the last as far as sales go.

We have one more next week that is four days long , it is the biggest and usually the best.
Hope you all had a great weekend !

Last minute littles
I'm always looking for things to do with old books , a friend of mine who is a teacher saw that I had painted on an old book that I had picked up at a flea market, she asked me if I needed some books , I said sure , and the next thing I knew she brought me a car trunk load of books that they had cleaned out of the school library. So in between shows when I want to make something fast , I put together something on an old book, sometimes painted, and sometimes decopodged like these are .
These are my little last minute things for this weeks show, really simple and fun to make.

Weekend purchase
This little table was my only purchase over the weekend, the booth that had them had a lot of handmade furniture and bird feeders. They were selling these for $20.00 , but I got this one for $10.00 because....It has this little crack on the top , it doesn't go all the way through the wood. And they had it for half price ! So I took it .
Not sure where I'll put it , but I have this thing for accent tables. For now I'll put it
here like this...

Harvest Homecomming and craft fair
Another weekend, another festival, this one is in our home town of Harrison , Arkansas.
It's a sweet little fair with politicians , farmers markets , church bake sales, and local crafters. There is always a good crowd , if not always a lot of money flowing, but talking to the hometown folks and enjoying the fall weather is worth the work to set up.
We didn't do too bad today and we have one more day to go .
