I’ve finished a couple of new projects . One I am taking to our booth at Lovejoy’s as soon as there is room . The other I haven’t made up my mind about yet .
I forgot to take a before picture of this bookcase before I painted it .
It was a lovely shade of hunter green . Now it is a soothing pale aqua called The Good Life , I painted the back wall of it white . I think it has a beachy look now . I have a small desk , ( also hunter green ) that I am going to paint this color also .
The cute little tea pot on top is a flea market find that I got for $4.00 .
This next one is the one I can’t seem to give up yet. Here is a before picture .
This little cabinet has an Art Deco feel . It has three drawers , one of which is a metal bread drawer .
It also has a porcelain/metal top that is in great condition .
I added some new casters to the legs , the original ones were missing . And then painted it a Jadeite green .
I waxed it with a clear wax and then a dark wax and distressed it to give it back some age , added new handles and a knob on the door .
I love it !
Isn’t it cute ?
But I can’t help thinking I could make good money on it since I got it for a really good price . So maybe I’ll keep it for awhile until I find something I like better , like a jelly cupboard , then I will give it up ... Maybe .

I think it looks perfect for that spot! You did a nice job.
ReplyDeleteOh that is really cute. I think you should keep it for awhile.
ReplyDeleteThe bookcase is great, too.
I want to get busy on some projects. I thought we were going to miss Winter this year and I can get busy soon. But now there is way to much snow to even think about going outside to work on anything!!
Love your projects! I remember a time when I had things that were hunter green--now it is my least favorite color. Love the new color!

ReplyDeleteOnce again you have done a beautiful job on your newest projects. I love your work.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh ~ I would have a terrible time giving that up. What a beautiful cabinet and so functional ~
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon...love these two makeovers and the colors you chose! I also love your headboard bench in the previous post. I have an old Jenny Lind up in the attic and might just have to try!
ReplyDeleteWould look adorable with glass knobs and handles on it too! It's a cutie!!
ReplyDeletelooove your green project!!! angie from germany
ReplyDeleteI'd keep it right where it is! I actually found that exact cabinet free on the curb ( a first for me) and freshened up the white paint and gave it to my daughter for her son's room. You've brought yours back to life nicely and it fits perfectly in the corner of your kitchen!
ReplyDeleteexcellent! it perfectly fits in the corner.I so love doing old things turn into new look.
