Summer Oasis

Have you ever wished for a spot to get away to , a place where you can relax , read a book , you know , just kick back ?

The other day I was looking at the other end of my porch , the end where nobody sits , the kind of neglected area.

And I was thinking it would make a good get away spot.

Here is my oasis !

I found the hammock at Walmart in the camping department for $10.00 .

It will hold up to 250 pounds.

In the hardware department I found porch swing hooks that hold over 400 pounds.

That should hold me with no problem.

I figure if I really love it , next year I will get a bigger and better hammock.

So far I love it .

Garden Pinks- Again

As was out in my garden this evening I remembered That I hadn’t thought about what I was going to post for Pink Saturday.

So I grabbed my camera and started taking pictures of the pinks in my garden.

I know ! This is nothing new.

But it’s all I've got in pinks today…

Almost Pink Rose of Sharon

( more like lavender )

And Dark Pink Roses

That’s it ! That’s all I got !

But you gotta admit …

It’s all Pink !

Garden House

Wow , I have a lot to talk about today.

Thanks to Karen at TheGraphics Fairy and Kathleen at Faded Charm I have been selling my totes like crazy.

Thanks so much to those two ladies for featuring my tote bags on their blogs, I love your parties and will join them as often as I can. You are angels !

And the last two weeks I have picked up several new followers . I want to give a shout out to you , and tell you thank you , I have the best and supportive group of followers , I love you all !

Okay !

There have been two men in my life that have influenced me.

My Dad and my Husband .

Those two men could build and fix anything they put their mind to .

Between them they built 8 houses including the one I live in now. Most of them with my help . Sometimes I was just holding something steady .

So when it comes to building something I am not afraid to tackle it on my own . ( You remember the table ? )

Sunday I was missing them both , being Fathers Day and all .

So I went to the garage with my tools some hinges and L brackets and proceeded to build something in their honor .

I got this idea from Amy at Maison Decor , she has one of these in her yard. And since I had the windows in the garage and they were to big for my other projects , I decided to make this garden house.

I miss you Dad and Flory , I felt you watching me as I built this .

I Like It

First of all , Happy Father's day to all the great guys that we love out there !

I was scanning through all my favorite blogs this morning and I found Laura at Decor To Adore telling us how to add the" Like" button to our blogs . You have to be on Facebook to do it , It also adds the" Send" button so you can send it to your friends on Facebook.

So I did it !

Playing With Pink Paint

As you know a few weeks back I painted my front door pink . I love it !

Then I made loose comfy slip covers for the seats on my old green stripe swing , but I decided I needed to make the yellow and green chairs blend a little better .

Soooo , left over pink paint in hand I headed out this morning to see what I could do.

This is what I ended up with.

Yep , I painted pink polka-dots on the back and arms of these cheep plastic Adirondack chairs .

I like how the green ones look best.

Do you think I should put polka-dots on the seats too ?

I was afraid they would ware off easer on the seats.

Any way it was fun , and adds a touch of whimsy out there.

Baby Whites

The reason I’m showing this sweet baby cradle , is because today I’m thinking about babies.

You see this morning I sat in the Dr.s office with my son and daughter-in-law and my daughter-in-law’s mother and watched while the ultrasound technician showed us my new granddaughter.

It’s amazing that at a little over 4 months along you can watch this little being move around , you can see her hands and feet and when they switch to 4 D you can even see her face , and she made sure we could see that she was a girl.

I’m so excited , my granddaughter Robbyn came along with my son-in-law . I didn’t get to be with her till she was nine . So this is really my first baby granddaughter.

Now it would just put the frosting on the cake if she would be born with red hair !

4 New Totes

I have been busy this week making more totes.

I sold 4 last week after Kathleen featured me in her White Wednesday post .

Thing was everyone liked the one with the ruffles the best , so I ended up making 3 more ruffled ones similar to the one she showed , but all just a little different .

So the ladies that got them all got a one of a kind.

Now I have these new ones that I want to show you to see what you think .

This first one is made from upholstery fabric .

For those that like animal print.

The next one is drop cloth fabric with a little red toile fabric, and a French graphic add from the Graphic Fairy.

The next is drop cloth fabric , all ruffles and lace.

The last is also drop cloth fabric , some vintage lace with black and natural toile and another Graphic Fairy design , because we all feel like the queen sometimes .

Or maybe it’s for a princess !

They all sport a hand made rosette pin that is removable.

One of the ones I sold last week was to Donna over at Simplicity Cottage.

She just got back into blogging , so go over and check out her blog . She has the tote she got on her blog today.

Playing with PhotoScape in the Garden

On this beautiful warm summer evening I took a walk in the garden looking for white for White Wednesday at Faded Charm.

I found that all my backdrops are white , like fences and trellises , but not so much the flowers , they are mostly pink and red with a little white thrown in.

When I came in to look at the photos I started playing with PhotoScape. This is what I came up with.

I like the one of the birdhouse !

There’s no PhotoScape on these two with the shadows , I just liked the way the evening shadows danced on the wall .

Random Garden Pictures

I don’t have a lot to post about this week.

I spent the week taking care of my Reed . He stayed with me all week. Turns out his allergies turned into a sinus infection, so he just didn’t feel much like socializing.

Therefore I stayed in every day with him , That’s OK cause it was very hot outside anyway. The most I did was go out in the evening and water my little gardens.

I added a new Knockout rose last week.

and a new Hydrangea.

It’s very hot and humid , my lens on my camera was fogging up.

Look at the pink tones in the Bayberry .

I Painted the entry door to the garage pink too !

Parts of it are looking pretty good …

Other parts , not so much.

It’s a gradual thing .
