Sad Endings New Beginnings

I returned safely from my trip to Dallas to visit old friends, I had a wonderful visit with a high school friend , we talked and talked about old times and what had happened in our lives since we saw each other last .We went to visit another friend from our youth , this woman and I grew up in the same neighborhood , we met when we were nine.

This friend( Marilyn ) was fighting cancer. she was on a heavy dose of pain medication while we were there. We sat with her and her sister and daughters and talked about old times and the fun we had as kids. I wasn't sure how much she heard or understood. But it was good to be with her for one last time. I called to check how she was doing the next day, and her sister said that later the night before Marilyn said real plain " I've known Sharon for a reealllly long time ." So I feel like now she knew we were there and heard us talking.
Marilyn lost her battle with cancer early this morning.
I'm so glad I went to Dallas and got to be with her one more time.
The pain is gone and she is starting a new life .

God be with her family .

  1. I am so sorry for the loss of your friend and I am happy for you that you were able to see her one last time. I am sure she was able to understand the conversation and enjoyed seeing you again. Prayers your way.

  2. So sorry for your loss. Lisa

  3. I'm so sorry to hear that but how wonderful that you got to see her and spend some time with her before she passed.

  4. I am truly sorry for the loss of your childhood friend, yet grateful you had that special time together before she went on to her new life. Keeping you and her family in my prayers.
