Making Restock

Hi friends !

I’ve been busy today making restock items to fill in some of the things we sold last weekend.

My book bundles are not selling so good but the plaques I made from the book covers are . I made these four new ones today.

I saw the graphics on dictionary pages idea on Etsy , only they were just selling the pages as prints to do with as you please .

I decided to make mine into plaques .

I printed them on pages that had a word that pertained to them.

This was fun and I intend to do a lot more !

Gearing up for the next Show

Last week’s show was a literal wash out , constant rain and thunder storms kept the crowds away.

This week the weather man is promising mild sunny days , I hope he is right !

This week our show is in Fair Grove , Mo.

A small town with a big heart , The Fair Grove Heritage Reunion has been going on since 1978 , it started with 12 crafters, there are now almost 400 .

You’ll find this little town just about 15 minutes north of Springfield , Mo. just off Highway 65. Saturday and Sunday Sept. 17 and 18. If you are in the area look up Sweetie Pies’ Creations in booth 332 . We would love to see you and say hello !

As you can see we are all tucked in trying to stay dry and these were taken before it really started to come down.

Hopefully this week we can get a little more artistic with the booth and spread out a little .

A Little Bit of Fall

Yesterday the weather temperature dropped to the 60s and suddenly Fall was here .

So I pulled out a few things for the entry to welcome Fall and Halloween.

On the front porch I just added one white pumpkin for the time being since the pinks are still so pretty . You have to look close to see it .

In the entry hall I added some mini pumpkins in bed springs to welcome you .

It’s not much , but it’s a start.

Today we are loading up the cars for our first craft fair so things are boxed and sitting all over the house ready to go.

Changing Things Around

Sometimes you just get tired of looking at the same old thing the same old way. And even though I have been busy trying to get a few last minute things done for the craft show blitz coming up , I needed to take a day and do some cleaning .

When I clean I do a better job if I change things around .

There are only two ways to arrange my living room because I can’t move the TV more than a couple of feet , and I have the fireplace and built-ins on the end wall.

So this is the other way …

But at least now you know that I do occasionally clean .

Fall Schedule

This is our postcard that we send out to our customers before our fall shows.

What Do I Do With this ?

I have had this item for years now, It’s been in my closet sitting in the corner.

It was given to us by a neighbor cause he knew I liked antiques . I think it came from a train , It was a shelf to hold shoes or clothes or something like that in a sleeping compartment . That’s what I was told , if you know different let me know.

Anyway , I think it is cool and I would like to use it somewhere…

It has holes on it to mount it on the wall.

I was thinking it might look nice in a bathroom holding towels .

It is brass and copper , which is neat but doesn’t go with anything I have.

Would you paint it ?

It’s almost 30 inches long and 13 inches deep.

If you look close you can see the initials NSW in the side scroll work.

New Old Mirror

I found a mirror a few months ago at a garage sale , I think I paid $3.00 for it , it is one of those plastic composite thingies .

I forgot to take a before picture so here is a picture of the back of the bow on top so you can see the awful color it was . Kind of a pink/peach yucky flesh color. And it had other colors on the flower on top too.

I painted it white , then stained the top around the flowers, then dry brushed back over the flowers and bow with white again till I got it to a place that I liked it

.

I bought this for craft fairs for folks to use to check out how they look in head bands we make and such . It’s small enough to carry easily .

I sat it on my mantel to take its picture and I kinda like it there .

Beautiful Home in Indiana

It’s been a month since my visit to my old home town in Indiana.

Boy time flies fast !

I wanted to share with you the surroundings of the beautiful home of our hosts while we were there .

My good friends Nan and Gary whom I traveled with stay here every year when they visit , it’s the home of Nan’s cousin Tom and his wife Pam.

It borders a small river and a wooded area , they have approximately 10 acres there.

Here is the home.

If you look closely you can see the moter home parked behind that row of pine trees.

I love this porch !
