Summer Vignette

I have been busy this week watching my grandbaby , his daycare takes the whole month of July off .

So I haven’t been able to work on many projects.

But I have been enjoying the summer weather , even though it is hot . I mean , that is what summer is about isn’t it ?

I started looking around for things that reminded me of summer fun , I found this old pop case in the garage , we bought it years ago at a flea market to use for displays at craft shows .

It makes me think of boating and stopping for a refreshing drink.

Did you ever hear of 3V Cola ?

006

Then I pulled out this vintage look sand pail and shovel , it’s a reproduction but it reminds me so much of my childhood and playing in the sand around Lake Michigan , Ahhh , those were great summers.

007

Then I picked some wild flowers and a few flowers from the yard and added them to a covered jar. and then added a few things that made me think of picnics.

Now I have a summer vignette centerpiece .

I’m heading up to Indiana in a couple of weeks , going to a high school reunion , getting together with a lot of old friends.

I hope to get a chance to go out to the lake and put my toes in the sand again . I spent so many summer days there as a kid .

I hope you all are having a great summer !

I think I’ll link this up with Debra’s Vintage Inspiration Friday .

Head over there for the party !

  6. That's a pretty perfect summer vignette! Cheery and beautiful. I had one of those sand pails too. I find myself thinking of being a kid a lot this time of year. Summer really was the most fun. I'm with you... I don't mind the heat. It's the whole point. Glad you're enjoying it too.
