Yard Sale Finds and Vintage Gifts

I hate to admit it but this old girl is 65 today ! It’s funny but I don’t feel that old , at least mentally , and physically  I guess I’m luckier than most , with only the occasional  ache and pain . So I decided I might as well shoot for another 65 !

Anyway yesterday my sis and I did a little yard saleing . and I found a few cute things.

This vintage table cloth and that cute little wood box thing.

I'm not sure what it is or supposed to be , but the first thing that came to my mind was window box.

But I filled it with vintage things , and a cute little hand sewn chicken that my sister made for me.

The little creamer  was a gift for my birthday from a good friend of mine , she found it on Etsy and had it sent to me. The girl knows me well ! Thanks Donna !

She also sent a vintage tea towel that I am using for a table runner in the sun room.

I also found a couple of woven bread baskets yesterday, they will come in handy.

You may or may not have noticed that I have done some switching around of tables again.

I put the farm table I made in the kitchen , and the little kitchen table in the sunroom. I get bored easily .

This picket fence shelf is a display shelf that Pam and I use to use in craft fairs .

I brought it in to put plants on. I like it in the sun room , Do you ?

New Bedspread Prompts Change

I got a new to me chenille bedspread . A friend of ours gave it to us ( my sister and me ) because she knows we make a lot of things from recycled chenille . There were two throw pillow with it that Pam took because she liked them on her sofa . When I mentioned I was looking for a chenille spread for summer to take the place of the heavy quilted comforter that was currently on there. She reminded me of the spread that our friend had given us. She said it was much to pretty to cut up for crafts . So I brought it home and put it on my bed . Turns out it was a queen size and my bed is full , but since my bed sits really high I decided to try it anyway. What do you think ?

It just touches the floor all the way around , I used all the same pillows I had on it before .

It is the same soft cream color as the antique rocking chair that was my mother’s .

And the same soft cream as the throw that my grandmother crocheted on the bench.

And it pulls out the tea died muslin in the embroidery I did for over my bed . Do you like the crazy old door that I decoupaged with old book pages and tissue ? I left a little of the old white chippyness . The door and the arrangement are new since the last time I showed you my bedroom . So , do you like the new bedspread ?

On another note , I’m on a roll with the sewing , I made three new bags that I have added to my Etsy shop. And I have a couple more all cut out and ready to put together . If you get a chance go over and take a look . You’ll find a link to my shop on my left sidebar .

Sewing Mood

I have finally gotten back into a sewing mood , So I have been able to add a few new things to my Etsy shop.

I made a couple new bags…

And I made a few new cuff bracelets…

Now I’m going to go make a few bags from some drapery fabrics I found , these will have a lot of color. I’m excited to get started on them.

I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful spring weather. Sis and I started walking a mile each morning last week. we are walking 5 or 6 days a week. So far the weather has been great for us . I find I have more energy and my mind is working over time with ideas. I guess there are benefits to exercise .
