Getting Ready to Hit the Road

This home away from home belongs to my very good friends Nan and Gary , they have been parked in my yard for a couple of days waiting for me to get ready to leave with them on Saturday , I will be spending two weeks with them in it , as we travel up to and around Indiana visiting the past .

They say you can never go home , we will see about that .

All instructions have been left with the kids and grandkids who are taking care of my cottage and garden while I am gone . Luckily they live next door .

So I won’t be writing much for the next two weeks , although I will have my laptop with me . I will try to check in on everyone along the way , and hopefully I will have lots to blog about when I get back .

Craft Show Jury Pictures

I was having a hard time coming up with something to blog about , because I have several projects in the making and a vacation coming up , but nothing finished .

Then I remembered that my sister and I got together and photographed some of our “ Sweetie Pies’ “ stuff for an application to a new show for us .

These pictures are a combination of Pam’s , Our buddy Billie , and my handy work.

As you can see , between the three of us we do a lot of fabric crafts .

Anyway , we are waiting to see if we get into this show .

I like a juried show , because it is all handcrafted items and art .

Past Whites

I don’t have any new whites to post about this week , But I happened to notice that in two weeks it will be my one year blogging anniversary. I can’t believe it’s almost a year since I started this blog.

I have learned so much , and made so many wonderful blog friends.

The inspiration I get from the blogs I follow is amazing !

So I thought I would go back and pull some pictures from past posts for this White Wednesday post.

So there it is , a sort of year in white review.

Summer Vignette

I have been busy this week watching my grandbaby , his daycare takes the whole month of July off .

So I haven’t been able to work on many projects.

But I have been enjoying the summer weather , even though it is hot . I mean , that is what summer is about isn’t it ?

I started looking around for things that reminded me of summer fun , I found this old pop case in the garage , we bought it years ago at a flea market to use for displays at craft shows .

It makes me think of boating and stopping for a refreshing drink.

Did you ever hear of 3V Cola ?

Then I pulled out this vintage look sand pail and shovel , it’s a reproduction but it reminds me so much of my childhood and playing in the sand around Lake Michigan , Ahhh , those were great summers.

Then I picked some wild flowers and a few flowers from the yard and added them to a covered jar. and then added a few things that made me think of picnics.

Now I have a summer vignette centerpiece .

I’m heading up to Indiana in a couple of weeks , going to a high school reunion , getting together with a lot of old friends.

I hope to get a chance to go out to the lake and put my toes in the sand again . I spent so many summer days there as a kid .

Pink Saturday and Happy 4th

I finally got all the tote bags that I had orders for finished and shipped out. So I figured it was time to make a few more to show you. These are all made similar to the red one that went so well last time .

The first 3 all have Graphic Fairy graphics on them , I just love her blog !

I couldn't’t put a graphic on this last one , it was impossible to match the ink to the fabric , but that’s okay it’s still my favorite , and the reason I’m linking this post to Pink Saturday .

I love this shade of pink !

I can make more of the first 3 , but should more than one person want this pink one the lace will be different , this is all I have of this one .
