A Couple of New Projects

I’ve finished a couple of new projects . One I am taking to our booth at Lovejoy’s as soon as there is room . The other I haven’t made up my mind about yet .
I forgot to take a before picture of this bookcase before I painted it .

019

It was a lovely shade of hunter green . Now it is a soothing pale aqua called The Good Life , I painted the back wall of it white . I think it has a beachy look now . I have a small desk , ( also hunter green ) that I am going to paint this color also .
The cute little tea pot on top is a flea market find that I got for $4.00 .

018

This next one is the one I can’t seem to give up yet. Here is a before picture .

002

This little cabinet has an Art Deco feel . It has three drawers , one of which is a metal bread drawer .
It also has a porcelain/metal top that is in great condition .

003
I added some new casters to the legs , the original ones were missing . And then painted it a Jadeite green .

003

I waxed it with a clear wax and then a dark wax and distressed it to give it back some age , added new handles and a knob on the door .
 I love it !

005

Isn’t it cute ?
But I can’t help thinking I could make good money on it since I got it for a really good price . So maybe I’ll keep it for awhile until I find something I like better , like a jelly cupboard , then I will give it up ... Maybe .

My Take on a Headboard Bench

A few months ago I found a Jenny Lind full headboard and footboard at a resale store near me for $15.00 .
Here is a picture of the headboard and a piece of the footboard before.

It took me a lot of figuring to decide how to attach the pieces I cut to make arms on my bench.
Needless to say I spent a lot of time looking through pictures on Pinterest to finally decide what I was going to do .

007
I got to use several of my power tools on this one . I defiantly won’t pick this style of bed if I ever make another.

008
This is the final project all painted .

009
I distressed it a little and clear waxed it , then added a couple of pillows in pillow shams to make it more comfortable .

011

Then I took it down to our booth at Lovejoy’s.

013

We have the booth all decorated for Valentine's day.

014
I sold my tutu vanity and several other things last week. So all in all I am pleased with how the booth is doing . And I am having fun finding things to fill it .
I hope the bench sells quickly !
On to the next project !
