I love Pinterest !

There are so many ideas and inspirations to be found there . These are a few that I have pinned into my Cottage Decorating Style pin board . There is something for every room in the home.

Rainy Day

It rained all day today . They say we need the rain because we are low on rainfall for the month . That doesn’t mean it was not a dreary day, as you can see looking out my kitchen window .

016

While you were looking out that window , did you happen to notice the new window topper ? I found a pair of red plaid curtain panels at one of our resale stores a while back and decided to make a new sink skirt and window topper from them . I like the one made from a vintage table cloth better , but this is nice for a change .

012

If you look a little closer , in the sink you will see a cute little enamel wash basin I found at an Etsy shop called Grace Meadows Farm.

010

017

It’s great for washing up a few dishes when I don’t want to run the dishwasher . Plus it matches my ladle . I remember back when I was a little girl , my grandmother had a bucket of well water sitting on the counter with a ladle in it for drinking , that was the best tasting water and nobody worried about the germs. You wouldn’t think about doing that today.

One more thing .

A few weeks ago I won a giveaway from Whisper Wood Cottage . Three wonderful Purdy brushes . I can’t wait to find a new painting project .

018

Thanks Amy !

The weatherman says it’s going to rain again tomorrow, so it’s going to be indoor projects again…. Or maybe no project …. probably no project.

Lazy Girl

I have been so lazy .

It’s been over a week since I last posted. I guess I’m just taking a winter break .

I just haven’t been able to start and finish much of anything .

I have several projects I want to get started , but can’t decide what to do first . Do you ever do that ?

I think I would like to start one project then I think “ you need to finish this project “ but I don’t feel like doing that one so I don’t do anything .

After I finished my work room I lost all my energy .

If you know a way to spark my inspiration , please let me know , I don’t like being lazy .

And I would like to have something to blog about too !

New Tote

I’ve been busy working in my newly done work room , I love this work table ! I added a skirt to one of the sides to hide the stuff I have stored underneath it .

010

I left the other side open so I could sit there with my stool , but I like this so much I may make one for the other side too .

I made a new tote that I added to my Etsy shop this morning.

Please take a look at what I have in my shop ! It’s on my side bar .

Have a happy day !

From Sweatshop to Command Center

It took me over a week to do it but when I resolve to do something , by gosh I’m going to do it ! And a big task it was !

So first I’ll give you a reminder of what it looked like on a good day.

I’m going to be looking for something to put above these last two cabinets to put these solid fabrics in to keep them clean and dust free .

015

The biggest difference is how bright it is . I painted everything white !

The center work table is made from two WalMart $20.00 book shelves and a hollow core door from Home Depot . I saw this idea on Pinterest , from The Ivy Cottage Blog .

001

I removed the old U shaped computer desk that I had in there before to work on , I just kept the part where I have my sewing machine . I may replace that later if I can find something prettier .

I don’t do much sitting when I’m cutting out patterns , so this counter height work station is better for my back , with a stool when I want to sit down .

Well there it is , first project of the year .

What do you think ?

Now if you will excuse me I need to create .

I’m in Love

If you can be in love with an object , than I’m in love with my new kitchen faucet !

It was a Christmas present ! Well , I asked for gift cards from Home Depot and this is what I bought with them . It’s kinda hard to ask for a kitchen faucet .

I got online and found it on sale for $99.00 at Home Depot .com . So I printed the add and went to my local Home Depot and found the same faucet . It was on sale there too, but for $134.00 , regularly $159.00 . So I took the online add to the customer service counter and showed it to them and they gave it to me for the online price.

007

I had admired this style on several other blogs like Maison Décor and Beneath My Heart . Theirs were so pretty but I didn’t think I could afford one so I had decided to get a gooseneck type cause I really needed a new faucet . My old one gave me a good spray every time I turned it on .

006

I think it looks great in my vintage retro kitchen.

My Son came over the other morning and installed it for me . Bless him !

So thank you for the gift cards from my Sister and Daughter ! I love it !

New Years Project Resolution

Well Happy New Year !

I'm starting out my new year with a big project , I resolve to get this done before I go on to any other projects.

I am painting and reorganizing my sweat shop workroom .

If you remember this" post ". You know that it needs help.

I have so much stuff , and it is so hard for me to throw anything away , you never know when it may come in handy for some craft or art piece. Can anyone say “ hoarder “. So this may take some time . I have to do it in sections because I don’t have room to move everything out before I paint .

So here are a couple of pictures of what I am working with .

006

007

See what I mean !!!

Hang in there with me and I will post some after pictures when I get to that part .

Wish me luck !

Now that I showed you this , I have to do it . How’s that for incentive ?

May you all have the the best 2012 !
