Fall Treasure Finds

Yesterday was a dreary drizzly day , but I felt like getting out and doing a little treasure hunting . So my buddy Billie and I hit the road . My blogging friend Glenda from My Country Heaven Cottage told me she was setting up a booth in a, new to me, antique and flea market in Branson, RZ’s Antiques and Flea Market .I didn’t have my camera with me so no pictures of her booth , maybe she’ll add some to her blog when she gets it finished . But it was nice visiting with her .

I did find this fantastic metal basket in that mall.

021

Look how great it looks with fall stuff in it !

025

It is painted brown , which is fine with fall stuff , but I think I may dry brush it with white before Christmas . I’m not sure what it was used for , but a man standing near where I picked it up said his guess was that it was for mechanics to wash parts in . Made sence to me cause it was by a bunch of old tools and man stuff .

Not going to hold man stuff anymore !

019

I also found , at another store , this fantastic rocking chair…

Can you believe it was already white with a green and pink seat cover , somebody knew I was coming !

The only thing wrong with it is the applique on the back is broken.

020

I think I can remove that and replace it with a new one. I will make a ruffley slip cover for the seat and a plush pillow for the back , and it will be perfect for rocking my grandbabies .

I found some cute napkins with cherries…

027

A red table cloth and two red check curtain panels which may become a valance over my sink window and curtains under the sink.

029

All in all a fun day . My sister was out of town so she didn’t get to go , I’ll have some new places to show her when she gets back.

By the way , in answer to some questions about my last post , Yes you can wash the Cita Solv transfers , after you heat set it with an iron.

CITRASOLV Transfer Technique

I finally got around to trying the Citra Solv transfer technique ! I've been wanting to try it for a long time . The other day I took some of my favorite Graphic Fairy graphics to my local office supply store and copied them on a toner type copier . Then I headed over to my local health foods store and found the Citra Solv .

It really works !

Here are some samples I tried with some of the smaller prints I had .

I printed a lot of some bigger graphics so I can try to make some pillows and such.

Think I might make some little sachets out of these.

It was really fun and easy, a little smelly , not a bad smell , just strong and critic.

I added a new book cover plaque to my Etsy shop today.

022

I just love the Graphics Fairy !

Think I’ll link this up with Kathleen’s White Wednesday at Faded Charm.

Thank you so much Kathleen for hosting this fab party !

Sorry these first few pictures are so yellow , I was running out of daylight.

I Won a Giveaway

A few weeks back I was notified by Debbie at Simply Debbie that I had won her giveaway . Cool !

I am not one of those folks who wins things a lot. So I was pleasantly surprised .

Because of all the craft fairs in the last weeks I’ve been a little slow to thank her.

So just in time for Pink Saturday.

Thank you Debbie !

Fall Entry

This is all the fall decorating I did this year and I showed you some of it before , I picked up a few pieces at the last craft fair to add to my entry so I thought I’d show them to you.

012

Who says you can’t mix pink and orange ?

013

Bubba thinks it’s pretty.

017

This little pink pumpkin is one of the things I picked up , I love the patina this lady gets on her things , they look like cement but they are ceramic.

019

This squirrel is the other thing I bought from her, he will end up in the garden but I thought he looked cute here for now.

018

020

I hope you like my pink and orange fall décor !

I added some new things to my Etsy shop today.

I hope you’ll go take a look at them.

Three Cranky Old Women

The craft season for 2011 is over for Sweetie Pies Creations . Five weekends in a row was hard on us. By the end of the fourth one we were talking about adding a small sign under our big one that reads ( AKA Three Cranky Old Women ). And we may actually do that next year for laughs . We are thinking about only doing three shows next year with a free week in between them .

Really , we had a great time , talked to a lot of great people , and sold a bunch .

A BUNCH !

Here are some pictures from the last show at War Eagle Mill, these were taken early morning on the first day. It was a 4 day show .

001

002

We went with 15 windows and came home with 2 …

003

Billie sold a lot of baby quilts …

004

I sold all my ruffled bags…

005

At the last minute before this show I altered this old silverware box to be used as a jewelry box , I love how it turned out . It sold first thing .

Some of the graphics are from The Graphic Fairy.

008

I found an antique booth while we were there and bought 3 more boxes, among other things, that I am going to add to my Etsy shop when I get them finished .

And because of this last picture I am going to link with White Wednesday at Kathleen’s Faded Charm .

Thank you Kathleen !

The Show Last Weekend Was a Good One !

Our show last weekend was a good one . It was our hometown Harvest Homecoming and usually these hometown people are close to the vest with their money , but last weekend they were spending . I hope this means the economy is getting better .

We changed our booth a little , we took the oak shelves and painted them white , used white table cloths and just a pop of color with lime green , cause it’s a color that seems to go well with most other colors . All the product seems to show up better now.

This is what we call the Annie side …

005

And this is the fall side…

006

We like it when we are not shoved up right next to the next booth so we can use the side for display.

002

Billie’s aprons went well this show.

003

And we sold lots of windows too…

004

And teddy bears and baby quilts, the one with Arkansas Razorbacks on it went early.

The weather was beautiful !

Hometown people are the best !

( Had to put that in there . )

So the only thing we have to complain about is now we have to scramble to make more stuff for the next two shows….

That’s a good thing !

Linking up with White Wednesday over at Faded Charm.

Thank you Kathleen !
