Hot day !

It's a hot day in the Ozarks today, and the humidity is thick, this is truly the dog days of summer. So I decided, after a trip to the recycling center, to stay in and paint, started a painting of my oldest grandson, and I might, I say might, try cleaning my laundry room, but that's it till this evening when I need to mow the lawn, but I'll wait till it gets cooler. Have a good weekend !

Entry way , Welcome !

A tribute to those gone before.
In the middle, my late husband, a portrait I did of him years ago in brown and white oils. On the right pencil portraits of his parents when they were young, and on the left my parents when they were young. I love doing drawings from old photos.
Below my husbands portrait is a stitchery I did that just seams to fit this spot.
I haven't quite got the hang of this yet, I wanted this picture on top with the other two below, but it didn't turn out that way, oh well ! I'll figure it out.

New project

I started with an old door and two old cabinets, here the door is already attached to the bottom cabinet.

All done with a fresh coat of paint.

Here is the finished project in it's new home.

I love the old retro kitchen utensils.

New Color

Here is what that kitchen wall looks like now.

New old cupboard

I found an old cupboard at a nearby flea market about a month ago , I've been looking for one I could aford for quite awhile , this one was dirty cream with dark green trim when I found it. It wasn't just what I wanted, but the price was right ,so I brought it home and painted it the way I wanted it. I had to take the broken tambor door off,( maybe I can replace it later,

This picture was taken as soon as I finished painting it, it inspired me to paint the kitchen and hunt for more retro stuff.

New Start

My Husband and I, with the help of my Father ,built this little house eleven years ago.
Both of them have passed since then , so the upkeep and decorating decisions are solely up to me.
I am having so much fun, on a very ,very small budget, making this small house into the cottage home I love.
This is my first post , it is in the evening of the day, but tomorrow I am going to hunt up some pictures, and post some of the small changes I've made

My Cottage

I'm starting with a picture from a few years ago when the holyhocks in front were pretty, this year they didn't do so well, but I have made some changes to the front porch since then and I will try to post more pictures later.
